Our Cinco de Mayo Stag & Doe

Hello friends! Today I am sharing details and decor from our Cinco De Mayo Stag and Doe!! For those of you that are unfamiliar with what a stag and doe is, they're also referred to as a buck and doe or a jack and jill. Essentially it's a party thrown by the soon to be mr and mrs along with their wedding party that's sort of like fundraiser for the engaged couple. There's food, drinks, DJ and dancing, prizes and games. It's most common in small towns like the one we live in but it definitely isn't as common as it used to be. We were super lucky to have our awesome family and close friends that make up our wedding party help us pull it off! We were also very fortunate to have a great turn out of our family and friends who helped us celebrate and it was a ton of fun!

You know me, I love any excuse to plan and decorate and this was no different! We chose to have it on May 5th months ago because we could do a Cinco de Mayo theme. I spent a ton of time on Pinterest and lots of nights crafting different decorations. I also purchased a lot of items from Party City and will be passing along a lot of the decor to another bride with an upcoming stag and doe. I handmade different signs and posters and also printed some free "punny" printables. It was a ton of fun getting ready for it and I am so happy with how it all turned out.

I poured acrylic paint into the bottles and rolled them around until coated with the paint. Easy peasy table decor that's perfect for a fiesta theme!

Our margarita and shot bar station!! A busy spot the entire night!! It's a tradition to use this Tiki hut constructed by a friend of our's dad. Each couple who uses it at their stag adds their names and event date. It's running out of room for names!

Thanks to my husband-to-be's job working for his dad's company, PK Snacks, we had nachos and cheese for guests to munch on and a margarita station! We had a taco bar as our late night snack and tons of people commented on how much they enjoyed this. I did a crockpot of shredded mexican chicken as well as a crockpot of pulled pork for tacos. We had flour tortillas, sour cream, salsa, tomatoes, green onion, jalapenos and guac for toppings! It actually ended up being so easy and much more affordable than ordering a ton of pizzas. The margarita and tequila shot stations were a big hit!

Despite all of the work to put it together, it was an absolutely blast and we truly felt the love all night!! We could not have done it without our wedding party and families! We are so excited to continue to celebration on our BIG DAY! I cannot believe how soon it will be here. We have been engaged for over 10 months already with less than 5 to go. With a busy summer ahead, there is lots on my TO DO list to continue wedding planning and DIY decor. I am so excited to share all of these details with you !!
