Fall is my Favourite

Well, we are getting closer and closer to my favourite season --FALL! The changing leaves, scarves, pumpkins, cozy sweaters, comfort food, apples, candles, Thanksgiving.....AAHH it's just the best!

After Labour Day I get really excited about the upcoming change in season. I usually try to hold off until the "official" end of summer to put out my decor for Fall equinox. Last week was incredibly hot and humid still so definitely not feeling like Autumn yet. Thankfully this week, the temperatures are much more comfortable so our AC is off and the windows are open. Mornings and evenings are getting cooler and I am ready to put away my shorts and sandals and break out my scarves and sweaters.

I love starting to see all the Fall décor at my favourite stores and the mums and pumpkins popping up at farmers markets. I am going to hold off another week until I buy any and to pull out my seasonal decor. I can't wait to decorate my favourite spots-- my porch and mantle! I just love white pumpkins and incorporating natural décor as much as possible.

This collection of neutrals is my inspiration for this year's décor.

Here is a look at last year's tablescape;

I am planning to create some DIY fall inspired signs for my front porch and around the house, like these signs from Design, Dining + Diapers

I love the lantern and galvanized bucket!

With cooler temperatures, I instantly start thinking of recipes for heartier meals. I love using the crockpot on Sundays and have a long list of soup recipes to try in addition to other comfort foods. Check out my Pinterest board for Fall recipe ideas.

We have a busy Fall ahead with several weddings and I will be hosting my sister's bridal shower in November that will have an Autumn theme. I am so ready for cozy nights, wrapped up in a blanket with a great candle burning.

What are you looking forward to this fall?
