I have been rather absent from blogging the last two weeks and I am blaming my bathroom for this! I recently painted my kitchen and spare room (I will be posting about these rooms later) and decided to use the leftover paint to freshen up our upstairs bathroom. Well let me tell you, my plans for a simple paint job turned into a full on project! I am very excited about this room as I decided to add shiplap on two thirds of the wall and I am loving it!! It has been much more time consuming than originally expected but I am excited to share the finished project and all of the details soon(ish)!
Today I wanted to share some of my Spring décor + Easter recipes I will be trying for the long weekend. It is hard to believe it is Easter already and that spring has finally sprung!
As I mentioned in my post on Valentine's Décor, my style pallet for the winter is typically very neutral following Christmas. I love when Spring rolls around and I start to add pops of colours and florals to my décor!
Tulips are so simple and beautiful and I often purchase mine from the grocery store along with a potted hydrangea. I use a combination of fresh and faux flowers for Spring and Easter. These tall yellow blooms from Dollarama were purchased years ago and have been a staple ever since.
These DIY Spring canvases are an easy craft to add to your seasonal décor. I purchased the canvases and paint from the dollarstore, using painters tape to create the chevron pattern and painted over scrapbooking letters for the 'Spring' sign.
Another simple idea are these painted styrofoam eggs also from Dollarama.
Throw pillows are the easiest way to change up my décor for seasons and holidays, swapping out my winter neutrals for colours and patterns. I also like to add some festive napkins and straws to my bar top and as always, frame some seasonal prints.
When it comes to food for holidays, I like to bring an easy + tasty app to family events that is big enough for everyone to get a taste. I often make a cheese ball or a veggie pizza using crescent rolls, cream cheese and chopped veggies. Below are a few ideas to make my usual appetizers festive;
At some point, I would like to try making these Easter devilled eggs which includes dying the hard boiled eggs with food colouring. I may attempt this for Sunday :)
For sweets, anything with MiniEggs added to it is a great idea!

I am so excited to spend the long weekend with friends and family, eating and drinking too much and hopefully enjoying some sunshine! Happy Easter, everyone!!
